UTMSPACE
On October 15, 1992, the Malaysian Ministry of Education approved the proposal for the establishment of the School of Professional and Continuing Education at Universiti Teknologi Malaysia (UTM). Functioning as a specialized center for professional and continuing education, the school is committed to implementing lifelong learning programs at the university level.
UTMSPACE's mission is to provide high-quality continuing education services, offering professional certificate programs accessible to all working professionals. In 2010, as UTM transitioned into a research university, UTMSPACE was entrusted to oversee the SPACE and the Joint Curriculum Management Unit (UPPK). Under this consolidated management arrangement, UTMSPACE began collaborating with private colleges to offer professional programs and confer professional certificates on behalf of UTM.
Starting from the year 2000, UTMSPACE experienced rapid growth due to increasing public interest in part-time courses and professional development programs in collaboration with various companies. Today, the center has become a reference point for other higher education institutions in the initiative for lifelong learning.
