There are nine levels in the UK, starting from the most basic "Entry Level", then progressing from Level 1 to Level 8. The highest level, Level 8, naturally corresponds to a Doctorate degree!
What is a Level 7 Qualification in the UK?
A Level 7 Qualification is the second highest level of education in the UK, equivalent to a Master's Degree. In the UK, there are many diplomas that can be designated as "Level 7" upon completion of studies in various subjects, including the Postgraduate Diploma.
If you obtain a Level 7 Qualification in the UK, it will also be recognized as "Level 7" on the European Qualifications Framework (EQF) in EU countries. This means that whether you are in the UK or an EU country, your Level 7 diploma is equivalent to a Master's Degree.
However, it's important to note that although both are Level 7, a Postgraduate Diploma at Level 7 still requires the completion of a dissertation to officially become a Master's Degree holder in the UK or EU.
