“Success is not spoken with words; it's proven through actions.” Candy Goh Chy Chyi, who earned a first-class grade in 2023, firmly believes in this statement and has demonstrated it through a year of dedicated learning, ultimately achieving success.
Bore Fruitful with 1 year
As a working professional, Candy Goh Chy Chyi heeded the encouragement and advice of her friends. Placing her trust in her research and Universiti Teknologi Malaysia (UTM), she decided to enroll in the one-year Professional Diploma in Engineering Business Administration at Rivermore Academy, a decision that bore fruitful results.
Given Candy's role in the work and management chain, the knowledge and skills acquired in the Engineering Business Administration program align seamlessly with her job responsibilities. The relief of weekend classes scheduling also eased the burden for this working professional.
Though initially unfamiliar with UTMSPACE, Candy's trust in UTM and confidence that no reputable institution would engage in fraudulent activities prevailed. As she officially immersed herself in the coursework, her trust in UTM grew, extending to UTMSPACE and the collaborative efforts with Rivermore Academy.
The determination she showed at the outset and the year-long dedication paid off, culminating in her achievement of a First-Class Honors degree. This journey not only shaped her academic success but also brought significant rewards to her professional life.
Working Experience and Proactive are Valuable
With 11 years of work experience in Singapore under her belt, Candy found herself at ease in many of her classroom lessons. Even when confronted with challenging subjects, she exhibited remarkable proactivity by delving into additional online resources to master the topics.
One particular teacher, Lee Borway, left an indelible mark on her. He was instructing a particularly demanding course that Candy considered one of the most challenging. However, Lee's comprehensive explanations and emphasis on key concepts enabled her to swiftly grasp the material.
Serendipitously, Candy’s coursework in supply chain management mirrored a real-world scenario that unfolded within her job. Candy astutely incorporated this real-life incident into her assignments, unveiling a plethora of work-related inefficiencies.
Leveraging the techniques she had acquired in her classes, she overhauled her work management. The knowledge she harnessed seamlessly translated to her job, enhancing her performance and earning her an impressive grade.
